Cristina Albu (PhD '12) Assistant Professor, tenure track, Department of Art and Art History, University of Missouri-Kansas City

Edith Balas (PhD '73) has generously donated books to the Frick Fine Arts Library over the years, adding to the breadth and depth of the collection.

Brianne Cohen (PhD '12)  received a two-year post-doctoral joint position at the Université Catholique de Louvain and Lieven Gevaert Research Centre for Photography.

Frances Connelly (PhD '87) is a tenured professor at the the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She has served as department chair, and authored the Global Arts Initiative which brought funding and an endowed professorship to the art history program. Read more.

Elizabeth Betty Asche Douglas (MA '56) is an Professor emerita of Fine Arts & Humanities, Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA. In January 2011, she curated an exhibition of works from the Bequest of Vivian Davidson Hewitt to Geneva College. More than 40 paintings and sculptures, predominantly by Haitian artists, but also including Brazilian, Jamaican, American, and other nationalities, make up the collection. In May, 2011, she led a group of Geneva College alumni and friends on a two-week cultural excursion to Rome and Florence (with side trips to Pisa and Siena). She continues to make and exhibit her own art, which is also offered for sale through her studio/gallery next door to her home.

Janet Marstine's (PhD '93) study of American art at Pitt eventually led to an accomplished career in museum studies. Read more.

Therese Martin (PhD '00) received her PhD under the direction of John Williams with a dissertation on the topic of San Isidoro in León. She has been a tenured scholar since 2009 at Spain’s premier research institution, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. Read more.

Alison McQueen (PhD '98) is an Associate Professor At McMaster University and recently published a book from Ashgate Press, Empress Eugénie and the Arts, Politics and Visual Culture in the Nineteenth Century. The book is the winner of a Foundation Napoleon History Prize for 2011.

Azar M. Rejaie (PhD '06) was recently tenured at the University of Houston-Downtown.

Carol Solomon (PhD '87) is the recipient of a 2012-13 Fulbright Award for research in Tunisia and Morocco on contemporary art of the Maghreb with a focus on national memory, culture and identity.

Huang Tsuimei's (PhD '92) accomplished career involves not only research and publications but also the development of Graduate Institute of Art History and Art Criticism at Tainan National University of the Arts. Read more.
